At this point in time details surrounding HondaLink are slim. Honda is strategically keeping much of its new technology under wraps. In other words, the automaker isn't merely evolving what's already out there; engineers have created something entirely new.

Making its initial appearance in select markets for the Honda Fit EV, HondaLink will utilize a system that is not based on satellite-collected data. This not only takes a step away from the norm but opens up more room for mobile connectivity or even a possible built-in modem. After gaining premium visibility in the Fit EV, the technology will arrive most everywhere inside the 2013 variant of the popular Honda Accord.
